We pile into my bedroom and everyone makes themselves comfortable. I sit in the middle of my bed and Lavender and Abby sit on my sofa that is in the corner of my room. Mikayla, Bleu, and June sit on the other side of the bed. Marisol makes herself comfortable on the chair next to the bed and Lorren takes a seat next to me on the bed.

I look down at my hands, highly aware that they are all looking at me and waiting to hear how the meeting went but I don’t know where to begin.

“I found my mate,” I blurt out.

They all started talking at once.

  “How?” Lavender says.

“Who is it?” Abby chimes in.

  “Tell us everything!” Mikayla squeals.

I can’t think straight, but despite their dizzying questions, I smile.

“Let her speak guys,” Marisol says.

“It’s Alpha Carson Blackman and that’s not all, we made out in the restaurant parking lot.” I say in a rush.

I look around the room to see everyone looking like they’re staring at a ghost.

“Wait, Carson is your mate?” Mikayla asks first.

  “Yes,” I reply.

“The hottest guy on the North side is your mate?” June asks.

“I guess so. Why is that such a shock?” I ask defensively.

“Um, maybe because he’s just as dangerous as you,” Bleu simply says.

I looked around, everyone seemed to agree with her.

“What’s his kill rate and dominance over a pack?” I ask them.

An alpha’s kill rate is the number of kills they’ve done, and their dominance is the number of packs they are in dominance over. The higher the numbers, the more dangerous the alpha.

“It’s not far below yours, he has about six hundred and ten in kills and two hundred in dominance. You have seven hundred in kills and Three hundred and twenty in dominance.” June says.

“Guys, that’s not all. He asked if he could have the neutral zone and a promise that no one from each pack will be harmed if they go to the others territory,” I say, looking around at them. Everyone has a mixture of shock and happiness on their faces.

“We all saw that coming,” Abby says and everyone else nods. I can’t help but giggle and they all look at me like I’m on drugs. Before I can say anything else, my phone chimes, and I see an unknown number on the screen. I open the message up.

Unknown: Hello beautiful, this is Carson. After some persuading, your brother gave me your number. Meet me in the woods. Xoxo.

Me: I’ll meet you in half an hour.

I smile and look up. The girls are still staring at me, so I read them the text. They are all making googly eyes at me as I stand up and look down at my clothes.

“What should I wear?” I ask, sure that I shouldn’t wear the same clothes as earlier.

“What about that pink and black outfit.” Says Bleu.

I run into my closet and grab my pink and black jogging outfit and put it on and then I slip on my running shoes. I come out with my hair in a messy ponytail.

“Damn girl you fine as hell.” Bleu says.

I let out a giggle as I open the bedroom door. The girls follow me, and I’m happy that they are okay that I’m ditching them on our girl’s night, but I think they understand how big of a deal this is for me.

We make our way downstairs and out onto the deck that leads to the back yard. I turn around to say goodbye to them and notice that Max joined the group.

“Where are you going, Alpha?” he asks, wrapping his arm around Lavender’s shoulder.

“Oh, out for a quick nighttime run. It helps me sleep and clear my thoughts. After the day I just had, I need it,” I say, letting out a sigh.

“Oh, would you like some company?” He asks, running his hands through his hair.

“Thank you, but I want to be alone this time,” I give him a small smile.

“Okay, just be careful. I’ll let Paul know that you went for a run. How long are you going to be? Just in case he asks.”

“I’ll be back before the sun comes up,” I jump off the edge of the deck and turn around to wave at them before taking off into the woods.

The clearing is deep in the woods, so I run at full speed and before long, I make it to the clearing. I can smell him before I see him. I look up to find Carson standing in the middle of the clearing and I before I can stop myself, I am grinning at him.

  Chapter 5

  Claudia

All I can do is stand here and stare at Carson. In the back of my mind, I was wondering why he wanted to meet me here, but taking him in before me, I can’t form the question out loud.

“What's the matter, Clau?" He asks as he tilts his head to the side.

“Nothing. Wait, what did you just call me?" I ask as my head jerks back.

“Clau. Short for Claudia. You look like you're confused about something,” he smirks.

I walk further into the meadow and he cocks his head the other way, as if studying me. I can tell that he’s watching my every move. I know I should be intimidated, but I wasn’t. I’m actually enthralled by him.

“What is it that you wanted to talk about that couldn't be said on the phone?" I ask as I come to a stop in front of him.

“I wanted to see you again and I also wanted to talk to you without anyone else around,” He shrugs his shoulders.

I stared at him for a moment in wonder, “this feels so familiar.”

He smiles, “I feel the same way. I always had this dream where I see a girl but couldn't see anything else,” he says lighting up a cigarette.

I continue to stare at him. How can this be possible? There has to be something that connects us. Could it be my tattoo? I have a tattoo on my neck, and I’ve had as long as I remember. It looks like a triangle that was left unfinished with dots on top and below. It also has what looks like a G or a six on the end of the lines that formed the triangle.

“I feel a connection between us, do you feel it, too?” I ask him as I look him in his emerald eyes.

“Yeah, I've never felt anything like it, but it feels good, though." He blows smoke up into the air.

I am so memorized by those emerald green eyes that I can’t respond. I love the way they are shimmering in the moonlight. They look like jewels sparkling under a beam of light. I’ve never seen anything like it before.

  “Are you okay?” He asks.

“Yes, sorry. I just don't know what to say,” I rub my arms to subside the chills that trail up and down them.

“Are you cold?” He takes off his jacket and steps towards me. He wraps it around me, and the warmth immediately engulfs me.

“Thanks,” I smile at him. “Tell me about this dream that you have. I’ve been having a similar dream.” I pull the jacket tighter around me and eagerly wait for his response.

He takes a long drag from his cigarette before he answers me, "It always starts with me being in the woods and a girl that I can’t see. We end up at the lake watching the sunrise, but I can never see her face. I wake up every time I try to get a closer look at her."

I stand there shocked that he and I have been having the same dream. I can't believe it. I close my eyes and take a deep breath, exhaling through my mouth.

“I’ve always had a dream of a guy standing here in the woods, smoking a cigarette, covered in tattoos and piercings. I feel like I am having a strong case of déjà vu right now, like my dream is coming true,” I gaze at him.

“I feel the same way. It’s crazy that you’re the girl in my dreams,” he scratches his jaw. I wonder what the dreams mean or why we share them. Then, I remember that Lavender is a voodoo priestess.

Lavender started Voodoo when she was about nine years old. She learned from her grandmother who thought that this would do her some good. She’s very private about it but I think voodoo might help Carson and I to better understand what’s going on. She’s always helping me solve issues I’ve had, and I think she can help us figure out what the dreams mean.

  “My best friend, Lavender, may
be able to help us.” I say.

“How would she be able to help?” He asks.

“She has the power to look into dreams. It's a bit weird but also very helpful.” I shrug my shoulders and glance up at him. I laugh at the shocked look on his face.

Voodoo priestesses are not common, especially werewolf voodoo priestess’. When we need to, we will use that to our advantage when dealing with other packs. I light up a cigarette and focus back on Carson who is still looking at me.

He isn't wearing a shirt and I’m surprised that I’m just now noticing that. The strong sense of déjà vu must have distracted me from his beautiful, naked top half. His chest is covered in tattoos and his nipples are pierced. His muscles are bulging, and he had that defined v-line leading down to his lower half that damn near makes me drool. He is the most beautiful thing that I have ever laid eyes on.

“Do you always walk around without a shirt on?” I ask, taking a puff from my cigarette.

“Only at night when I run,” he laughs.

“Ah okay, and do you always run in my territory?" I cock my head to the side.

“Actually, it's the first time that I am awake that I've been here. When I’m here I’m always dreaming, and when I wake up, I automatically go back home,” he explains.

“Oh, that's weird.” I look up to see the moon shining bright and the sky is covered in sparkling stars. Tonight, there is a full moon. I feel my tattoo being to burn and pulse. I rub the back of my neck where the tattoo is and am surprised to find that it is risen. I’m confused because that has never happened before.

“Are you sure you're okay?” he asks as he watches me rubbing my neck.

“My birth tattoo is burning, and it feels raised. I never had this happened before,” I say. Birth tattoos are something that every wolf gets at birth and it represents what pack each wolf will belong to.

“May I look at it?” he takes a step closer to me.

“Sure,” I move my hair away from my neck.

He runs his fingers along my tattoo and his touch sends chills down my spine. I close my eyes and an image of a tattoo like mine flashes in my mind. This one has four dots; one on the top, one on the bottom and one on each side. I open my eyes to find Carson looking at me.

“Do you have a birth tattoo?" I ask.

“Yes, it's on my ankle. I have a tattoo on my wrist, it looks half-finished. I must have had it since birth, just like my birth tattoo because I have always had it. It looks like a triangle that was left unfinished with dots on top and below. It also had what looked like a G or a six on the end of the lines that formed the triangle." He bends down and pulled his sock down. It’s the same tattoo that I just saw in my mind which is also the same tattoo that I keep seeing in my dreams.

I feel like I have powers that keep trying to surface but couldn’t because I don’t know what to do with them.

“Can I ask you something that might be personal?" I ask, looking at his tattoo.

“Sure, go right ahead." he shrugs.

“Do you feel a draw between us?”

“I already told you I did,” he grins at me.

I nod my head and blush before continuing, “It’s just that, ever since I’ve been having these dreams, my mood has seemed to change as well. My temper is short, I zone out a lot…it’s weird. Now that we are here, I have this sense that I am living out my dream. Like you are the man in my dreams, and I can’t help but think that it is somehow all connected. The mood swings, zoning out, my temper…” I trail off and look at him curiously.

“Now that you mention it, I’ve been zoning out a lot, too. My temper has been pretty bad as well,” he says, scratching his chin again. I’m learning that this is a habit for him when he’s deep in thought.

“Can you come over tomorrow? We can ask Lavender what this all means.” I ask.

“Sure, I’ll come over. I’m curious to see if she knows what is going on between us,” he says.

“Want to go to the lake?" I say making my way to west side of the meadow.

“Sure, I'll come with you if you like,” Carson says as he watches me.

“Sure, just make sure you can keep up,” I say back with a giggle.

I take off running and allow Noah to come out; she is the biggest in the pack, she has snow white fur with black around her dark amethyst purple eyes. She has brown paws; she is nothing to play with. I look to my right to see a jet-black wolf with white on his paws and his eyes are a light green jade color. They are beautiful. I can't believe how big his wolf was.

Noah is a big wolf at seven and a half feet tall, but he is a tad bit bigger. He must be eight or eight and a half feet tall. I can't really tell with all this running, but I know he's fucking big.

We both came to a stop at the edge of the shoreline. The view is breathtaking. The sand is so white that every time the sun or the moonlight hit it, it would sparkle. The water is so blue that it is crystal during the day and at night it looks black and ominous. The sunset’s here are breathtaking. The colors that are in the sky are blues, blacks, pinks, and orange. The sunrises are amazing as well.

As we came to a stop, I can now see how massive Carson's wolf is. He stands tall at eight and a half feet tall and his paws are the size of dinner plates. If he really wants to, he can give me a run for my money in a fight. I look into those beautiful green eyes of his and see nothing but kindness and love in them. Noah gives him a small lick and splashes him with her paw.

He turns and splashes her and gets her soaking wet. All I can do is huff at her. She shakes it off and try's again, this time giving him all that she has. She gets him wet and takes off into the water. Carson lets out a small growl of annoyance and takes off into the water. We both swim and splash each other for a good hour until we decide to get out and head back. I give him a small lick and take off towards the pack house, happier than I had been in a long time.

  Chapter 6

  Carson

What has this female done to me to make me feel this way? I typically don’t give a shit about women, but it’s different with her. I want so badly to fuck her. I want to feel her insides and explore her body but a part of me wants to wait so I can give her time to get to know me, but the other part wants to mark her as mine and keep her safe.

She is the one person to get my head all fucked up like this. Typically, I know what I want, and I stick to it, but she has turned my life upside down. Her smell alone has me all kinds of fucked up; she smells like raspberries, saltwater and roses. I could smell her when she walked into the restaurant earlier today.

She is fine as hell, too, so that's a plus but she’s different from what I have heard about her. Everyone says she's this big, bad, dangerous wolf that has put her pack on the map. All I see is a sexy woman that is shy and blurts out the first thing that comes to mind.

I stare out into the ocean thinking of how much this girl has my head all over the place. I hear my phone ring which snaps me out of my thoughts.

“Carson speaking, who is this?” I say into the phone.

“Hey boss, it's Harper. I'm just checking to see where you went?” he replies.

I look around to see the sun was just coming up over the ocean, “I'll be home in three minutes.” I say.

“Okay see you then.” Harper says before he hangs up.

I stuff my phone back into my pocket and turn around so that I can head to the road where my red Lamborghini is parked. The whole mess with this pack from the north is making things hard for me, and now that I might have found my mate in Claudia, it is going to make things a lot more complicated.

I get into the car and drive off to the pack house. Everyone should be getting up right about now, so I'll tell them that we will be having lunch over at Claudia's and that we need to tell her about the mess with Light side pack. It will be interesting to see how she and her pack react.

I drive up to the house and turn into the driveway to see Harper, Nikko, and Ryden standing there waiting for me. None of us have mates and w
e don’t really care to find one, but then again, Claudia seems to be just that for me, and I don’t mind one bit.

I get out of the car, “Is everyone up? I need everyone up and in the family room, now. I have some news.” I say to them.

“Okay, we can get everyone up. Come on Nikko.” Ryden says to me and then looks at Nikko.

They both walk into the house, pushing each other along the way. We are always rough housing, what can I say? Boys will be boys.

“So, where did you go last night?” Harper asks as we make our way to the front door.

“I went for a run and took a dip in the ocean. You know it helps me think clearly.” I say opening the door.

As we walk in, I can see that Nikko and Ryden already woke everyone up for the meeting. I let out a small sigh as I see the one person, I was hoping to avoid Yasmeen. She is the only one in the pack that I fuck. That's all we do, and it can be a bit much. It’s not that good but she's easy. I can tell when I walk in that she has one thing on her mind and that one thing, was me without clothes on fucking the shit out of her. I, on the other hand, want to be fucking the shit out of Claudia and I want to put my mark on he, not Yasmeen.

I let out a small cough loud enough for everyone to hear, “Okay everyone I need y'all to shut the fuck up right now. We will be heading to Coldstone pack house in a few minutes to meet everyone and sign the treaty that will allow everyone to cross the border without getting killed. We also will be discussing the expansion of the territory more. I need everyone to be on their best behavior. I will also tell their alpha about the conflict we are having with the Light side pack.”

I look around the room to see a few of them where a bit shocked and others had sour looks on their faces.

  “Yes alpha!” they all say.

I walk out of the living room and into my room, I need some time to think alone and I need a shower. I am only in my room a few minutes before I hear a knock at the door. I don't even answer it; I don't want to deal with anyone right now.

I take my shirt off over my head and slip out of my vans. I unbutton my jeans and kick them off and then walk into the bathroom when I hear another knock but still, I ignore it.
